Previously the property was a standard two-storey detached with French doors out to the garden but the addition of a large ground floor extension promised a real wow factor to the property.
As with many modern extensions the goal was to create a light and airy space and sliding doors out to the garden were the preferred choice.
This sliding door installation was bespoke in the sense that all 3 sashes of the door slide to one side, creating an opening of approximately 7m wide. This gives the home that inside/ outside living feel – a feature that will really come into its own during the summer months.
The measuring & surveying process was crucial (as it always is) to ensure floor levels & thresholds were thought about, as well as how the door was going to be fixed in place.
The client wanted the site lines of the doors to line up with the steel uprights at the same time keeping the door “equally split” in appearance. This meant we had to work with the steel engineer to ensure our positionings were correct.
The installation was a great success and the customer is very happy. We’ve already received enquiries for similar products from the neighbours!
