SIP Extensions are the cleaner, greener, more efficient way to build an extension. They are sometimes known as Modular Buildings, SIP Panel Extensions or Prefab Extensions.

A SIP Home Extension from Habify is built using Kingspan TEK® SIP panels and Guardian Warm Roof technology. The extension components are pre-built for guaranteed quality and offer huge time-saving and performance advantages over conventional extensions.

The No-Mess, No Fuss Extension

Create the extra space you need with the look and finish you want, without the mess and interruption of a traditional build.

We do all the hard work off-site, so your extension can be constructed at your home in weeks, not months. Bifold doors, roof lanterns and a wide range of external finishes enhance the build to suit your needs and complement your existing property.

Choose from...

A tiled Warm Roof for a traditional feel

Pitched roof with high-performance insulation, optional velux windows and slate or metro tiles.

Roof Lantern for a light, modern look

Create a light, bright living space with a Guardian Roof Lantern. Roof lanterns allow natural light to flow into your home. Perfect for kitchens and communal spaces.

Sliding, Bifold or French patio doors in uPVC or aluminium

Embrace the outdoors with fully customisable glazing options for your extension, using energy-efficient double or triple glazing.

What is a SIP Extension?

A SIP extension is an extension to your home or property constructed from Structural Insulated Panels. These panels are prefabricated, measured and cut prior to the start of the build, meaning less disruption and mess for you, and a considerably quicker build time than a traditional extension.

Our SIP panels have a lifetime expectancy of 60 years and are covered by a 20 year warranty.

What is a SIP Extension

The extension walls are made up of three main components:

  • Core insulation: This is the thickest layer of the SIP consisting of high-performance fibre-free rigid urethane insulation. The insulation core is 100% thermally efficient and maintains this high level of performance over its lifetime.
  • Structural facings: These are two outer layers of the SIP, made from oriented strand board (OSB/3).
  • Adhesive: This is used to bond the core insulation and structural facings together.
  • We then add the external finish of your choice, which. can be brick finish or render.

The extension Roof is made with Guardian's market-leading warm roof system, comprising of:

  • Lightweight aluminium frame.
  • 3 layers of rigid insulation board for energy efficiency
  •  Exterior grade plywood
  • Durable waterproof membrane
  • Slate or shingle tiles to suit your home
  • Optional Velux or Roof Lantern for natural light

Why Choose a SIP Extension?

SIPs offer several advantages over traditional masonry and timber frame construction methods:

  • Energy efficiency: SIPs provide excellent insulation, which can lead to significant energy savings on heating and cooling costs. Our panels deliver a thermal U Value of 0.18 W/m2K.
  • Speed of construction: SIPs are prefabricated, which means that they can be assembled quickly on-site in days, not months.
  • Structural strength: SIPs are very strong and durable, making them ideal for use in a variety of climates and for both domestic and commercial use.
  • Sustainability: SIPs are made using sustainable construction materials which can be made from recycled materials and require less energy to produce than traditional building methods.
  • Lower carbon footprint: The deeper the foundation, the more carbon is emitted during excavation. The low-profile foundation required for a SIP Panel extension releases significantly less carbon than a traditional build. We can also build on most conservatory pads, so you may not require new foundations at all.
