Our findings

This wooden framed conservatory was definitely not fit for purpose, and the family were in need of a full renovation throughout to finally make use of this fantastic space with so much potential! The Victorian-style conservatory looked out onto a large family garden and had so much potential but was old, leaky and in a state of disrepair. New uPVC frames and doors were added to the project, giving the family an extension-like space to enjoy all year round.

Four step process

Step 1

Our installers arrived on site for 8 am to commence works. We always start by covering and protecting the working area and then move on to removing the existing conservatory roof. By the end of day 1, the structure is watertight with the new roof in situ. Because of the size of this job, we had a four-person team on site to ensure the structure was watertight.

Step 2

The electrician arrives to carry out a 1st fix for the new lighting and our installers finish new lead work externally and ensure the new box gutter is installed correctly. We then start to work on the inside of the roof.

Step 3

Our installers complete the internal and external works, including new guttering and rainwater pipes. The inside is now ready for plastering.

Step 4

The new ceiling is then plastered internally and the electrics can be reconnected. A final clean-down is then carried out before completion.

This large conservatory roof replacement and fit of uPVC windows and doors was completed in just 8 days from start (the delivery of all materials) to finish. The fully insulated warm roof and A Rated windows and doors have transformed this space from cold, leaky and usable to light, airy, well insulated and used daily!

The homeowners chose to have two shaped glass panels within the roof, allowing light to flood in to the inside space.
