Composite Windows

Timber and Alu-clad windows for Norfolk & Suffolk

Timber and Alu clad windows, also known as composite windows, are the modern, energy-efficient and sustainable way to do windows. They combine the insulating power of timber with the weatherproof ease of aluminium.

Unlike the traditional ‘composite’ commonly used in entrance doors (Usually a mix of timber and uPVC), this new wave of Scandinavian-engineered composite windows have a high-quality timber core and a coating of durable, weatherproof aluminium. Composite windows have an expected lifespan of 83 years. They are sustainable, durable, highly insulating and look beautiful.

We are Norfolk’s distributor for Rationel, founded in Denmark in 1954 and the leading manufacturer of composite windows and doors in Europe. We supply and fit three ranges of composite windows from Rationel; Aura, Forma and Velfac. These ranges cater to different aesthetics and types of property. Read on to find the perfect match for your home or build project.

What are the benefits of composite windows?

  • Durability: Composite windows are very strong and resistant to warping, rotting, and bending thanks to the composite material. This translates to a longer lifespan for your windows and greater possibilities in terms of the size and shape of your windows.

  • Energy Efficiency: The combination of materials in composite windows provides excellent insulation, keeping your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This can significantly reduce your energy bills.

  • Low Maintenance: Unlike traditional wood windows, composite windows won’t need to be repainted every few years. They are generally easy to keep clean with just soap and water.

  • Versatility and Aesthetics: Composite windows come in a variety of styles and colours to match the look of your home. They can have the appearance of wood windows while offering the benefits of composite materials.

  • Environmentally Friendly: Composite windows can be a more sustainable choice than some other window materials. Both timber and aluminium are widely recycled. In addition, the overall durability of the windows means they won’t need to be replaced as often.

So firstly the final product is nice and exactly what I asked for. However to get to thispoint has been traumatic, distressing and in a disorganised fashion. We decided to use Habify as they could offer us the full package, something we didn't have time to organise all the trades to come to together. We met with the sales man, the owner Hugo and the structual engineer were lovely. We were told 3 weeks from start to finish and we were delighted. Our start date was coming and no communication with the company came, so I chased them up and already they delayed the start date by 3 days. The company brought in sub contractors to do the foundations and on the first day, we had the sub contractors and an employee from Habify and they cracked on. We were delighted, and thought this is great. However this lead us into a false sense of security. For the next four weeks, we had the sub contactors drinking in our garden at 11am. Turning up and doing just two hours work. Not having things in order so delays were constant. Destroying my garden by dropping gravel and concrete all over it, driving up and down constantly with a digger and dumping mud on my drive. The company had over £15000 of my money and so I was hesitant to complain. Finally we moved forward, Brad and Danny came employed by the company and they were fantastic. They recognised the delays and works tirelessly to try and get us back on track. However, the bad planning within the company meant weeks went by as electricians weren't booked, no building regs booked, plasterer turned up with out tools to do the work. Finally after a long ten weeks, we were finished. We had to fight for a door to be installed as this was not in the quote which we questioned, a vast amount of rubbish was left by the plasterer, screed had been poured on our garden and it now floods and we asked for usb plugs and didn't get them.Having got a bit cross with Hugo, we finally got to the end. Not finished to my standard, but finished and usable. For the trauma and distress caused we were given a £1000 off the bill. I am not sure this will even cover the damage they have caused.Would I recommend them, put it this way we thinking about another sip extension on our kitchen but we will be looking for another company.

Really impressed with overall experience. I wanted to go for a smaller independent company, over a large nationwide chain. From the point of quoting through to fitting, everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and not too pushy. I really felt like they genuinely wanted my business and they really adapted to what I asked for. Thank you.

@habify_uk were great and everyone was lovely. We had3 windows and 2 doors clad and plastered. We went with SIPs so theycould be installed and ftted quickly as we have a busy house and we wantminimal downtime.Sales process.Rob was friendly and professional. There was one annoying small niggle none ofthe samples had names onthem. Rob was transparent and said they had just updated the colour so theyhadn't been sorted out yet. There was no Cladding sample and purely because of my impatience,I wentand picked them up myself.Agreed a price was told 3-day process. max 4 daysThe 3-day'is because they were SIPs, they are pre-cut to size so the installationcould be quick. To add complexityl asked for a tunnel catflap. Which was notanissue.OficeSarah was professional every timeI calledin and here is my`1st issue.WhenIam choosing a premium service, lshould not have had to do anything.Whenam the one who has to ring for information, days and times. Includeasking for a receipt for my deposit. Is not really acceptable. When the receiptwas done, and then there was 9 working days without hearing anything andyou had to email to find out what was happening.12 working days later was told there was a delay. Then waited another 8 working days, to get a ft day. This was only afterlcalled sales and asked what was happening.(Paying a large deposit and the communication being a bit sketchy start tomake you question your choice to the pointI rechecked the company)Hugo the MD came to me with a fit date and work started. The FitThe fitter Sam and Brad were brilliant uber professional a credit to thecompany.Day1 explained the process and just cracked on.SIPs and this was the biggestissue. They should of been pre cut (this was nothing to do with @habify_uk but thesupplier) This slowed every down as the lads had to re-measure and cut thefull size panels to shape.Thelads carried on but they hadto come away a couple on times. At no pointwas my home unsecure the lads made sure. There communication was great. On one of the time they had to come away they told me one thing, and theoffice pulled them to another job and did notinformed me, so there was someannoyance. The whole job spanned over 3 weeks which is someway over the 4 days max.The fitter were really good and even whenl asked ifthey could move thecatlap over they went over and beyond.Really happy with the plasterers work butI did not see him as he was in andout whileIwas at work. After the fitHugo himself wantedto come and see the job and us due to the issues.Professional and understanding of my issues and took responsibility.ConclusionIam really happy with the product/fnish and these litle things are justdisappointing.Itseems looking through the reviewsI am the one off.AndIwould recommend them to the point ofIwill use them again for my otherproject.

We had our old conservatory replaced back in August with Habify, we are over the moon with the finished result! We were well informed throughout the process and the fitters/plasterers/electricians were all so lovely and even worked through the heatwave we had. The customer service has been excellent and even if we had an issue they were quick to respond and fix. Would highly recommend Habify.
